HERstory
-
Randii Ianeke writes poems that highlight the ebbs and flows in love, life and the internal strife of those suffering with mental illness. Randii began her journey as a poet at the early age of 8, as a coping mechanism to childhood trauma.
Throughout her teenage years and young adulthood, she battled with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. In late 2013, Randii was diagnosed with Persistent Depressive Disorder while studying at Louisiana State University as a collegiate gymnast and it served as a turning point in her journey toward healing.
-
Through her writing and spoken word performances, Randii seeks to shed light on the complexities of the mental health crisis in the U.S. She hopes that by sharing her story through artistic expression, her audience can connect with her pain in a way that supports healing, self-reflection and empowers them to keep going.
To further facilitate collective healing, Randii offers various holistic healing services to include yoga, reiki and sound therapy. She received her RYT-200 from Yoga Alliance in 2017, became a Reiki Master in 2018 and has recently become a certified Sound Therapist in 2024.
